I paint out graffiti on the public stairs. I decided to start messing with my taggers by stenciling proto -fascist surveillance camera art. They reacted with circle A's and "Fuck The System" as well as some very crude penis art. I painted it all out, including my stencil, with the boring beige latex left over from the neighborhood clean up and then waited a couple of days so that no one would immediately suspect it was the the paint-out-guy tagging. I then left the second where the first one had been. I hope to establish a meaningless dialogue.
We will see where this goes.
Can the next one read "We mean you no harm"? And the one after that, "Klaatu barada nikto"?

Sadly, they are wimpy taggers and have not yet even defaced it with genitalia. Those are fine suggestions though: I will take them to the Board of Graffiti for approval.
